Obituary of Pleze Alexander Sawyer

Gastonia/Almond Dateline Pleze Alexander Sawyer, 83, formerly of the Panther Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in a Gastonia Health Care facility. A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Joel and Stella Crisp Sawyer. He retired with the city of Gastonia with 38 years of employment. He was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge # 668 in Gastonia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Bradshaw Sawyer who passed away in July of 2012; also two brothers, James and McKinley Sawyer. He is survived by a son, Ronald Sawyer and wife Cindy of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Blake Sawyer, Lisa Morgan, Ross Bradley, Katie Reed; six great grandchildren, Chelsey, Aden, Luke, David, Levi, Noah; and one sister, Betty DeHart of Morganton. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City. Rev. Gary Putnam will officiate with burial in the Panther Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.
