Obituary of Emma Jean Jones

Emma Jean Kirkland Jones, 66, of the Franklin Grove Community, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 1st, 2013 in a Swain County Hospital. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Burrell and Vada McClure Kirkland. She was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Turpin, and one brother Junior Kirkland. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Ray Jones; four children, Loretta Bradley, Charles Jones and wife Andrea, Douglas Jones and wife Tina, and Norma Burdette and husband Brandon all of Bryson City; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother Clyde Kirkland and wife Betty of Bryson City, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. David Burch will officiate with burial in Lauada Cemetery.
