Jim Driver, Jr. 69, of the Birdtown Community, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 9, 2013 in a Buncombe County Hospital. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of the late james and Ina Wolfe Driver. He was a craftsman at The Cherokee's for 33 years and retired with the Cherokee Boys Club. He was a member of Big Cove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arbara Teesateskie Driver; two grandchildren, Lloyd Teesateskie III, Joyce Arbara Teesateskie; two brothers, John Ed Driver, West Driver; and two sisters, Elsie Locust and Ollie Sequoyah. He is survived by two children, Joseph Driver and wife Janice of Cherokee, daughter, Josephine Teesateskie of Cherokee; five grandchildren, Joshua, A.J., Melvin, Junior, Shana; four brothers, William Driver, Frank Driver, James Driver, Jerry Driver all of Cherokee; three sisters, Betty Morales, Nancy Cox, Melinda Mahan all of Cherokee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Straight Fork Baptist Church. Revs. Charles Ray Ball, James (Bo) Parris, and Jack Russell will officiate with burial in the Driver Family Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 4:00 p.m. Monday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service. Pallbearers will be the nephews.
