Obituary of Lucinda George McCoy

Lucinda George McCoy, 64, of the Birdtown Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Guy George Sr. and Sally Tramper George; also wife of the late William McCoy. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Guy George, Jr. and sister, Martha Swilling. She was a retired housekeeper for the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians.
She is survived by three sisters, Eloise Maney and husband Harley of Cherokee, Roberta Walkingstick and husband Daniel of Cherokee, Sally Ann Shehan and husband James of Cherokee; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev. Greg Morgan will officiate with burial in the Birdtown Cemetery.
The body will be taken back to the church at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service.
