Obituary of James Dennis Cunningham

James Dennis Cunningham, 70, of the Lauada Community went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 25, 2013 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Harley and Nina Tallent Cunningham. Dennis was a self employed artist and painter having painted signs for businesses all over Swain County. He was a member of True Gospel Baptist Church. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Cunningham. He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Cunningham of the home, Velda Cline of Bryson City; two brothers, Tommy Cunningham, Sr. of Bryson City, Warren Cunningham of Cherry Grove, SC; several nieces and nephews; and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Lonnie Cochran and Ernie Cable will officiate with burial in Cold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
