After a long and valiant battle, Kathleen Meghan Sullivan died on March 27, 2013 from
Heart failure. She is survived by her father Peter Sullivan, mother Kay Page Sullivan, sister Stacey Sullivan Floyd and Chris, brother Ryan Sullivan and Michelle, and brother Sean Sullivan and Lynne. In Sarasota, Florida, Kathleen is predeceased by her

Kathleen was a gifted and creative writer who found great enjoyment in writing poetry. A devoted animal caregiver and advocate, she rescued any animal that might need her help and encouraged others to do the same. Her big heart, boundless spirit and energy were an inspiration to her family.
Kathleen will remain forever in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know her or care for her during her long illness. Her brief time with her family and others who loved her was a gift. Kathleen's message to friends she left behind is to live healthy and live fully each day, doing what makes you truly happy. Kathleen did not want to leave you.
"Life is the flash of a firefly in the night.
It is the breath of a buffalo in the winter.
It is the little shadow
which runs across the grass
and loses itself
in the sunset." Crowfoot (Blackfoot)
Kathleen's family expresses deep appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Asheville's Mission Hospital Heart Center who made heroic efforts to save Kathleen.
