Obituary of Betty Moore DeHart

Betty Moore Gossett DeHart of Bryson City died on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Buncombe County. She was born August 24, 1943 to the late Margie and Clarence Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Mac Gossett Senior in 1976 and husband Roger Clyde DeHart in 2006.
She is survived by one son, Douglas Mac Gossett and daughter in law, Renee of Fletcher, NC; grandson, Joshua Douglas Gossett and step grandson, Tyler Crowe; step daughter, Sara DeHart Weaver and her husband Michael of Monroe, GA.
She is also survived by sisters, Carloyn George of Midland, GA, Martha Jenkins and husband Don Ray of the Wolf Creek community and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her dear friends and work family at Med West Home Health who gave her encouragement, hope, support and lots of love.
She graduated from UT Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. Betty was a Public Health Nurse and assisted in the beginning of the Home Health and Hospice Programs in Graham and Swain Counties in 1978. Betty loved the Nursing profession and was especially devoted to Home Health and Hospice Care dedicating 30 years to Home Health and Hospice Care.
Betty is survived by her most precious companion, "Annie."
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Relay for Life in Jackson County for the fight against breast cancer.
