Obituary of William Bowers Phillips

Bryson City Dateline: William Bowers Phillips, Jr., 77, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 25th, 2013 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late William Bowers and Ethel Clarke Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vinnie Phillips, two sons Alvin Phillips and wife Joyce of Bryson City, and Darrell Phillips and wife Lisa of Bryson City; 6 grandchidren, and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Deep Gap Church of God of which he was a member. Rev. Benji Collins will officiate with burial in the Mason Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 PM Friday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel where the body will remain until placed in the Church 30 min. Prior to the service.
