Richard G. Goodwin, 82, of the Galbreath Creek Community passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 in a Swain County health care facility. A native of Western New York, he was the son of the late Bernard and Stella Goodwin. He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bryson City and a U.S. Marine Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, Virginia M. Goodwin; daughter, Theresa Joyce of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Jamie of Denver, CO; two brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Shawn Oneal will officiate.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
