Obituary of Talitha Mary Birchfield

Talitha (Tye) DeHart Birchfield, 90, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord, Saturday February 15, 2014 in a Buncombe County Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Joel and Nancy DeHart and wife of the late Odis Birchfield. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and worked in textiles for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Birchfield; two sisters, Jean Proctor, and Edith Branton, and a brother Carl DeHart. She is survived by two daughters, Pat Randall and husband Larry of McCalla, AL, and Brenda Ensley and husband Dave of Cherokee, NC; one son, Gary Birchfield of Sylva, NC; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Doug DeHart of Maiden, NC and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Branton Loftis will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
