Obituary of Clayton Claywell Shuler

Clayton Claywell Shuler, 87, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday April 30, 2014 at his residence. A native of Swain County, He was the son of the late Edd and Mollie Crisp Shuler.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Hansil Shuler; son Roger Dean Shuler; sisters, Hazel Cogdill, Zelma Wright, Eddie Cowart; and brother, Junior (June Bug) Shuler.
He is survived by daughter Judy Cloninger and husband Howard of Bryson City; son Clayton C. (Buck) Shuler Jr. and wife Ann of Stanley, NC; son, Michael Ray Shuler of the home; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters Marie McClure of Belmont, NC; Genevieve Cassada of Lowell, NC, Mae Belle Brown of Belmont, NC; brothers, Calvin Shuler of Mt. Holly, NC, Richard Shuler of Belmont, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Friday at First Baptist Church of Bryson City. Rev. Ted Duncan will officiate with burial in the Sawmill Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1PM Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Bryson City Benevolence Fund. PO Box 247, Bryson City, NC 28713.
