Obituary of Harvey Wayne LeQuire

Harvey W. LeQuire, 86 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2014, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Calvin and Clara P. LeQuire. Harvey was a Veteran of World War II and a furniture maker. In addition he was a Baptist Minister for over fifty years. He was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Carson LeQuire, and his second wife, Genevieve Smith LeQuire, as well as four brothers, five sisters, and one great grandchild. He is survived by his three children, Ella Sellers & husband Ronnie of Bryson City, Roger LeQuire and wife Faye of Raleigh and Sandra Kelley and husband Dan of Salina, OK. Also there is one brother Clarence LeQuire and wife Anne, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 12:00pm and funeral will follow at 2:00 pm. The Reverends Terry Taylor and Mike Cogdill will officiate. Burial will be at the Laurel Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Mission Rathbun House, PO Box 5363, Asheville, NC 28813 (affiliated with Memorial Mission Hospital) or Hospice of Swain County, NC.
