Judy Kay (Yost) Armstrong, 55, of Whittier, NC departed this life Saturday August 9th, 2014. She was born May 2nd 1959 in Fairmont WV. A daughter of Fred P. Yost of Ashland, KY and Ruth M. Boyles of Grafton, WV. She was a graduate of Grafton High School class of 1977. She received her RN degree from South Florida Community College Avon Park, Fl. She had been a practicing nurse in West Virginia, Florida and North Carolina. Judy was a member Saint Joseph Catholic Church Bryson City, NC. Judy enjoyed spending time with family and riding motorcycles with her husband. She was an avid animal lover and was known to take in many rescues. She is survived by husband Dwight (Buddy) Armstrong of Whittier, NC. Sons Ryan Wayne Korth of Asheville, NC. Jesse Garrett Korth of Asheville, NC. Daughter Ashley Louise (Damien) Phillips of Alarka, NC. Step-son Josh (Kelly)Armstrong of Winter Haven, FL, grandson Cameron Phillips of Alarka, NC and granddaughter Alexis Armstrong of Winter Haven, FL. Sister Robin Mayle-Bess (Jeremy) of South Charleston, WV. Judy is proceeded in death by paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Yost, maternal grandmother Dollie Louise Dodd. Step-father James J. Boyles brother-in-law Michael (Tim) Mayle and Mother-in-law Mary Armstrong. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Father Shawn O'neal will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in the WNC State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 pm Tuesday at Crisp Funeral Home.
