Katherine Lakey Nordling, 79, of Weaverville, formerly of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday November 26, 2016 at her residence. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late John Wiley and Juanita Pearl Welch Lakey and wife of the late Dr. Robert Nordling. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters Ruth Robbins and Lorene King.
Katherine attended North Buncombe First Church of God.
She is survived by one son, Darrell DeHart of Bryson City; one daughter Cindy Hilderbrand and husband Don of Weaverville, NC; one granddaughter, Summer Hilderbrand of Weaverville, NC; one brother Joe Lakey and wife Fran, and two sisters, Doris Raby, and Pearlene Allen and husband Kermit all of Bryson City, and several nieces and nephews.
No Services are planned at this time.
Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the family.
