Obituary of Wayne W. Wike

Wayne W. (Hoover) Wike, 86, of Whittier, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday April 2, 2017. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Samuel W. and Marie Davis Wike. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Wike Davis.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by one daughter, Janell Furtak and husband James of Milford, MI; one son, Wayne Wike Jr. and wife Nancy of Hubert, NC; two grandchildren, Annette Lowry and husband Kevin of Jonesville, MI, and Josh Wike of Charlotte, NC; two great grandchildren, Maggie Ayn, and Ethan James; three sisters, Margie Gibson of Bryson City, Betty Brintnall of Sylva, and Reva Chamberlin of Chattanooga, TN; three brothers, Cormal Wike of Whittier, William Wike of Brevard, and Daniel Wike of Bryson City and a son-in-law, Darrin Davis of Canton.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday in Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. Terry Taylor and Dana Dockery will officiate with burial in Whittier Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
