Obituary of Annie Mae Ward

Annie Nations Ward, 73, of Whittier, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 14, 2017. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Thomas and Vinnie Marjorie Jones Nations, and wife to the late Roy Ward. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy King and Dorothy Nations, and two brothers, Jim and Bill Nations.
Annie was a charter member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dillsboro, NC.
She is survived by two daughters Libby Stevens and husband Randall of Whittier, and Rita Fox and husband Mike of Sylva; one son, Rory Ward and wife Marianne of Whittier; six grandchildren, Valerie Nelson, Jason Stevens, Blake Fox, Camille Fox, Ryan Ward, and Ellen Harrill; eight great grandchildren; one brother Jess Nations and wife Louise of Washington; three sisters, Linda Kilpatrick and husband Carroll of Whittier; Della Owenby and husband Ralph of Whittier, and Wanda Crisp and husband Ward of Bryson City, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dillsboro. Revs. Tommy Ashe, Jason Stevens, and Mike Fox will officiate with burial in Wilmont Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
