Reverend Paul Breedlove, 79, of Bryson City passed away on April 21, 2010. He was born in Swain County and moved back in 1961 to serve as Associational Missionary for the Tennessee River Baptist Association. While serving as minister to several churches in Swain and Jackson Counties, he also worked for Swain County Hospital, retiring after 30 years service. He served with distinction in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Breedlove and Pearl Dehart Breedlove, son, Michael Roy Breedlove, and daughter, Deborah Rae Breedlove Hughes; his brothers, Carl Jr. and Colvard; and his sister, Lucille Breedlove Mann.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Taylor Breedlove; sons, Robert and Russell; daughter, Carolann Cartwright; granddaughter, Jordan Rae-Ann Cartwright; grandson, Johnathan Breedlove and his wife Rebel; brother, Vick and his wife Christine Breedlove; sisters, Lois Breedlove Powell and Lorene Breedlove Druce and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Bryson City with a memorial service following at 5:00 p.m.
