Charlie D. Maney, 88, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 28, 2017. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Sam and Laura Sutton Maney and husband of the late Alda Marie Maney to whom he was married for 50 years.
He is survived by his three sons, Bobby, Charles and Sam Maney; his wife, Glenda Maney; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Hester and Myrtle; brothers, Lonzo, Johnny, Barney; and his step-son, Ron Jones.
He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean War and a member of Mt. Vernon Freewill Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday at Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Crisp Funeral Home.
