Obituary of Susie Mae Clemmer

Susie Mae Wiggins Clemmer, 94, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 23, 2017 in a Jackson County health care facility. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Marie Cooper Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bruce Cunningham and Lander Lee Clemmer; and her siblings, Carell Wiggins, Arnold Wiggins, R.L. Wiggins, Velva Phillips, and Euestes Wiggins.
She was a member of Tuckaseege Baptist Church in Mt. Holly, NC. She was active in church and sang in a group. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and gardening. Mae was a warm, loving family member, friend and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Gene Cunningham of Cherokee, NC, and Randall Bruce Cunningham of Easley, SC; grandchildren, Neil Effler (Katie) of Cartersville, GA, Priscilla Bringhurst (Joe) of Canton, GA and Paige Billings (Nick) of Hattiesburg, MS; great grandchildren, Savannah and Cale Effler and Grayson; and her brother, Will Wiggins, Jr. of Belmont, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Blankenship Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 27 Robinson Gap Road, Bryson City, NC 28713.
