So many memories in my past concerning Gerald. Great leader of Mt Zion church. A great friend to my dad, my first husband Jim and also me. Always had a kind word and a smile every time I saw him. He was a good man that will be missed. Sorry I missed the funeral, I meant to go and didn't feel well. Prayers for comfort.

I am so grateful to the support Gerald gave to me as I began my work as Director of Missions for the Tennessee River Baptist Association. He gave so willingly of his time and talents for countless years. His love for the Lord, Southern Baptist work, and the churches of Swain County was outstanding. I appreciated his friendship. He will be missed, but he made his mark. Our prayers are with Annie and family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Stephenson, Tina, and the rest of the family. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Stense was one of my most favorite teachers/educators! He taught me many things concerning the construction trade, which I've used to upgrade my own home, or other projects. He was also a great baseball coach. But most of all, he was not only an excellent teacher/coach, but a great friend!...we laughed and had great times together. Though you have passed heaven's gate, you are not forgotten Stense....and will be with you again one day...
