Obituary of Marvin Mitchell McHan
Please share a memory of Marvin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marvin Mitchell McHan, 59, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2018 after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
A lifetime resident of Bryson City, he was the son of the late Don McHan and Shirley Arvey McHan Douthit. A graduate of Swain County High School, he enjoyed playing football and was named All-Conference.
Marvin was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and worked at the Swain County Schools Bus Garage for the past 15 years. A devoted husband and father, Marvin's family was his life's greatest joy. His kind spirit and unwavering faith touched all those blessed to have known him.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beth Ball McHan; daughter, Michelle Hoover (Dan) of Franklin; two sons, Jake McHan (Kristen) of Canton, Nathan McHan of US Army Ft. Stewart; his sister, Therese Rooks; and an aunt he was especially close to, Clara Neil Arvey.
Visitation will be held at Deep Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, November 10th at 2:00pm with memorial service to follow at 3:00pm.
