Obituary of Lois Bernice Cochran

Surrounded by her family at her home on December 23rdm Lois Bernice Nicely Cochran went home to be with the Lord. Lois was 84 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Sonny Cochran, a son, Darrel Wayne Cochran, her sister Minnie Cheetham, and her brother Junior Nicely.
She is survived by two brothers, Larry Nicely (Tracy) and B.A. Nicely; one step son and seven children: Clifford Neal Cochran Jr. of Gastonia, Steve Cochran of Knoxville, Brenda Shuler of Bryson City, Dennis Cochran of Jacksboro, TN, Virgil Cochran of Knoxville, Janet Cochran of Gastonia, and Stanley Cochran of Bryson City; 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
Lois was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. Sonnie and Lois moved their family to NC in 1978. Lois worked as a C.N.A at Mt. View Manor, she was able to care for her mother Reba Nicely for 10 years, sat with various people in the community taking care of them, and ended her working career at Tsali Nursing Home.
Lois was a faithful member at East Alarka Baptist Church.
Lois loved Jesus and her family. She will be remembered as a hard worker, saint of God, the best mom/grandmother ever, and a lady that had a heart of gold with a beautiful smile.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at East Alarka Baptist Church. Brothers Max Cochran and Jeff Waldroup will officiate with burial in the Brendle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday at the church.
Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the family.
