Obituary of Bertha Ednel Bryant
Please share a memory of Bertha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bertha Hayes Bryant, 81, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 6, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Freda and Hyman Hayes, her husband James Bryant, her sons Sam Parker and Jim Bryant, and her great-aunt Madge Hayes, amongst many others.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Larry and Janet Bryant, her daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Harry Cook and Tammy and Darrell Lambert; grandchildren April Jacobs, Jason Lambert, Adam Parker, Sheena Miracle, Brandy Sequoyah, Ryan Sequoyah, Amber Rogers, Breanna Bryant, Deana Sherrill, and Carina Bryant; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
"Granny Bert" was loved by all those she met, always treating others like her own, but her greatest pride and joy was her family. A seamstress by trade, Bertha worked throughout her life to provide for her family. She specifically loved her work and all the people she met as the official 'Granny' of Grandma's Pancake & Steak in Cherokee. She will be deeply missed by her family. The family is very appreciative of all the healthcare providers that impacted her life.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crisp Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, January 10 at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Roger "Jim" Frady and Mike Cogdill will officiate.
