Obituary of Joe Jasper Cucumber

Joe Jasper Cucumber Jr., 58, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee, he was the son of the late Joe Jasper Sr. and Dorothy Welch Cucumber. He was a member of Yellowhill Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel Monroe Cucumber, Alfredo Mark Cucumber, Oral Cucumber; and a sister, Mary Cucumber.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Saunooke and Lea Jo Cucumber both of Cherokee; one son, Bobby Joe Cucumber of Cherokee; eight grandchildren, Joseph Daniel Ledford, Xavier Thomas Ledford, Joanna Dorothy Ledford, Dalton J. Ledford, Ashton Graham Cucumber, Sabrina Wooten, Hawk Wooten, Cordale Wooten; two great grandchildren, Chayton Ledford, J.J. Ledford; three sisters, Erma McMillan, Sandy Cucumber, Pam Cucumber all of Cherokee; and one brother, Donald Glen Cucumber of Cherokee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Yellowhill Baptist Church. Revs. Red Bradley, Foreman Bradley, and Greg Morgan will officiate with burial in the Cucumber Cemetery.
The body will be taken back to the church at 1:00 p.m. Saturday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the service hour.
