Obituary of Robert Manley Shuler

Robert Manley Shuler, 58, of the Galbreath's Creek community went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 23, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Manley and Blanche Extine Shuler. He was a self employed welder and retired as a welding instructor at Job Corp and was a member of Galbreath Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Jones Shuler; one daughter, Tammy Brooks and husband Mark of Bryson City; one son, Robby Shuler and wife Tanya of Bryson City; six grandchildren, Kyle and Seth Smith, Austin, Abby and Rosie Shuler, Krysten Gibson; two brothers, Eddie Shuler and wife Gail of Andrews, and Grover Shuler of Bryson City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Roger Roland and Dewayne Kirkland will officiate with burial in Thomas Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
