Obituary of Nathan Dee Greene

Bryson City Dateline Nathan Dee Greene, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2011. He was a member of Round Hill Missionary Baptist Church for 80 years. He was a rodman and retired from the ironworkers Local #201 after 65 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ausborn and Nancy Franklin Greene; his wife, Lois Ethel Wiggins Greene; daughter, Peggy Sue Mason; and nine sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Vivian Ethel Greene, Rebecca DeeAnn Wright, Judi Naomi Spates of Bryson City; three sons, Gary Albert of Bryson City, Melvin Emmitt of Gaithersburg, MD, Forrest Richard of Weaverville, NC and Georgia. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Raymond Matthews and Donald Howard will officiate with burial in the Round Hill Cemetery. Music will be by Linda Downs and Nathan Mason. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
