Obituary of Cecil Monroe Nations
Cecil Monroe Nations, 84, of Bessemer City, NC went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2019 at Caromont Regional Hospital in Gastonia. Born on Jan. 31, 1935, in Whittier, he was the son of the late Claude Cecil and Lillie Seagle Nations. He was preceded in death by one sister, Muriel Woodard, and three brothers, Regal, Laburn and Claude Nations Jr.
Cecil was a carpenter by trade, and both his skill and passion for wood working were evident in his craft. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending his free time fishing and birdwatching. He also loved the Lord, and took pleasure in studying the Bible and sharing his faith with others.
Cecil is survived by two daughters, Brenda Lee Nations of Augusta, GA; Trina Allison and husband Joe of Sylva, NC; two granddaughters, Trudy Allison Brackett of Andrews, NC and Traci Allison of Sylva, NC; 4 great-granddaughters, fours sisters, Wilcie Franklin of Kings Mountain, NC, Ilene Buchanan of Sylva, NC, Vera Nations of Elizabeth City, NC, Chera Lee Parris of Arlington, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Wednesday June 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City, NC with funeral services immediately following. The Rev. Avery Brown will officiate. Interment will be in the Hensley Cemetery.
