I have such fond memories of Momma Helen. I am so sad I was gone and could not attend the service. Please know I loved her and will cherish the memories of many good times spent with family. Much love to all mourning her loss but I know she is happy and truly at home now.

Dear Odiears:
With the recent death of Dale Davis in Whittier, I went to the Crisp Funeral Home site to learn about the arrangements for his memorial on 7-27-19. Browsing the site, by chance, I saw that Helen had died in the summer of 2019. I am so sorry for your loss and for Lee's death years earlier. Starting in the 1950's, my family had a long relationship with the Odiears. In fact, my dad, Tom, who died in 2018, corresponded with Helen right up to the end of his life.
What I was not able to do earlier regarding Lee's passing, I am doing now in remembering Helen and her life. Please accept my sincere apologies for any socially inept act, or acts, from the days of my youth in the mid 1970's. They were unintentional and without malice.

The most special times I will remember that I had with Nonnie were our bible studies. When we used to do them, We did them everyday for awhile and they lasted hours sometimes! She really knew the Word of God and would have very insightful observations about each of our readings. I learned the value of simplicity from Nonnie. We don’t need a lot of stuff in our lives, and the only thing that is absolutely necessary is the eternal relationship with Jesus. Also, she made me microwave meals and we ate them together like we were eating steak and lobster. Very thankful for each meal and so happy she made me dinner! I would seriously taste the meal and say Nonnie you made this so good today! :) !and It was!!!
So anytime you miss sweet Nonnie you can remember her by reading your bible, because when her kids read the Bible it sure made her happy!!!!
Love you and the grace of the Lord Jesus be with your Spirit.
-Laurie
