Up until I moved back to Bryson City, I only knew that Charles Ray Ball was my Aunt JoAnn's brother and that he was a preacher. I thank God for crossing our paths. Charles Ray was just such a blessing. His smile was contagious. When you were in his company you could feel the joy of the Lord. He sure was a blessing. I will miss my friend.

To Betty and family, we were saddened to hear of Charlie's passing, But we also rejoiced because the Lord Jesus called him home. We have a lot of memories of him at Straight Fork, his sweet smile, his laugh, and his sermons. We will always remember his favorite song we always sang...."There is coming a day when no heart aches shall come. No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye. All is peace forever more on that happy golden shore, What a day, glorious day that will be." Praise the Lord! "Ike" Sequoyah and Randy Lossiah

If anyone lived his testimony it was Charles. He loved everyone. Never had a bad word to say about anyone. If you needed prayer he would pray. If you wanted to talk about Jesus he was ready to share the gosple. He was always smiling. I would go by hot spot on the way to church and there he would be getting his gas and ready to alone with his wife. There is not enough words to describe Charles Ray except. He was a true man of God and I believe he was one of the few who was after God's own heart. I know without a doubt when he closed his eyes in death here on earth he opened them looking directly at Jesus. Wow that is so amazing. Until we me meet again Charles Ray we will miss you but will be with you someday soon.
