Obituary of Benji Baines

Benji Ray Baines, 45, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday July 14, 2020. A native of Swain County he was the son of Laverne Wilson of Bryson City and the late Ronald Frank Baines. In addition to his father he is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Bonnie Baines and Woodrow and Alda Wilson.
Benji had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back. He attended the Bryson City Church of God and had given his heart to Christ. He was a big Rock Hound and he loved to fish and to shoot Bows with his brother Beau and his nephews.
In addition to his mother he is also survived by his son, Dalton Rigdon (Lena) of Franklin, NC; two grandsons, Gabriel Rigdon of Franklin, and Julian Rigdon of Shelby, NC; one brother, Beau Baines (Kacey) of Bryson City; nephews, Wesson Baines, and Layne Baines both of Bryson City; one uncle, Lambert Wilson; three aunts, Linda Wike, Lori McDowell, and Opal Barker, and a special cousin, Allyson Barnes.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
