My deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and loved ones in Julie’s life. Julie and I were special friends during our high school years in Knoxville and my memories of Julie are filled with happiness. Julie would light the room with her smile and her laughter was contagious. She was beautiful, bright and witty and we spent many hours outside of school running around town learning about life and laughing about everything. She wrote in my annual “so many times, and so much laughter shared. We’d giggle for hours at nothing.” Julie and I only had a precious few times as adults where we crossed paths again, at her wedding to Russ, class reunions and her Mom’s funeral, but our friendship was always renewed when we got together. I will miss miss my friend, Julie, and know that my life was enriched by the chapter full of fun times we shared together.

Susan,
We are so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful sister. It was always nice to see her truck in your driveway and know she was in town for a visit. Her background in Native American studies and teaching career are such a sweet legacy to leave behind. Beautiful photograph and lovely story of a life well lived. May you feel the peace that passes understanding as you grieve your loss.
With love,
Marion and Beau

Russ and Family,
The staff at Qualla Arts & Crafts are so sad to hear of Julie's passing. We worked with her off and on to gather items she used for her classes. Julie always had a big smile and kind words for everyone. We all enjoyed her so much and shared in her excitement of her plans for the students. Please accept our sincere condolences.

My Twins, Tanis and Tanin Esquivel, absolutely loved Ranger Julie. She was so wonderful with the kids. She was an inspiration to all of her students with her kindness and ready smile. A truly beautiful soul that will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
