David Nobriga, passed away in his sleep on June 7, 2021. He was born on June 22, 1958 to Mildred Pacheco (Nobriga) Fernandez in Hilo, Hawaii. He was preceeded in death by his mother Mildred Fernandez and his father David Nobriga I (the flyin' Hawaiian) and his uncle Bobby Pacheco.
David is survived by his wife Brandi Nobriga and her children Hunter Corbin, Cheyanne Corbin and Takoda Rogers . He is also survived by his biological children Jean Nobriga Wood and Patrick Nobriga as well as being a much loved father figure to the granddaughters of Patricia Helpinstill, Amanda Hecox, Teddi Harrell, and grandson Nicholas Nichols . He is remembered fondly by his first wife, Erin Lemons Herweh , mother of Jean Elizabeth . David was also blessed to have many grandchildren and bonus grandchildren, Romulus Kost, Peyton Wood, Lahna Marie Nobriga, Martin Merideth, Hannah Merideth, C J Hecox, Logan Misner, Ransom Harrell, Deklan Harrell, Xzander Nichols, Greyson Harris, Azrael Corbin, and Elora Corbin.
David was much loved by all who knew him, friends and coworkers alike. He was very well spoken and had an outside view of the box that everyone else tends to see from, with a unique take on any and every perspective or universal question. He always worked hard on focusing on the positive. He was quick witted with a dry sense of humor that would catch you off guard. He was very soft spoken, however, when you did enter into a conversation with him, he went out of his way to make every person feel validated and seen. People trusted him and came to him for his wisdom because he would listen to them and give them advice honestly.
While, he never liked to argue with people, there would be times, he would have conversations with people, who completely disagreed with his world views. Yet, before they walked away, they would find themselves agreeing with him, usually without even realizing it. They would turn around confused, and see him standing there, with a small smirk of victory.
His love of books, comic books, history, movies and music, led to a vast knowledge of what seemed like everything. No matter what the topic, he usually had a random fact relating to it. He often said his dream was to own a book store where he could exchange ideas with people all day and have conversations about literature and ideas. His favorite job was working at Half Price Books in Fort Worth, TX.
Despite his quiet, soft spoken nature, he was extremely passionate about singing Karaoke. He came alive on stage and enjoyed being in the spotlight.
He will be greatly missed by friends, family and his coworkers.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date when all the family can gather together.
