Shirley, I was so saddened to hear of Junior’s passing. I didn’t know my cousin well but have loved reading all the tributes to him. He always appeared quiet and humble as those who knew him well have said. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughters now and in the coming days. Again, this saddens me greatly. Gone too soon. Jo Waggy Thompson

Os was the kindest, most earnest man of integrity I have ever had the privilege to work with and for. Students and staff knew he was a man of his word, though they seldom realized his quiet strength. He didn't throw words around idly, preferring to let his steady actions to speak for themselves. I am grateful to have known him and to have witnessed his heart in action. Thank you, Shirley, for being by his side through all these years, through the great and difficult. We witnessed your strength too. Love and prayers for sweet memories for you and the family.

Shirley, I am so sorry to hear of Os’s passing. He was the first principal I worked with at SMS beginning in 2006. I found him to be a kind and fair man who impressed me very much. I’ve been where you are (twice), and I know what you are going through. Sending thoughts of comfort to you and your family.

Hi Shirley and family. Please accept my deepest condolences. My memory of Os will be seeing him working in the gardens and mowing the yard. I admired how he was able to keep going. I’m honored to be your neighbor. He will be missed!!
