Obituary of Makaia Dinah Sharpless

Makaia Dinah Sharpless, age three months, of Cherokee, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 20, 2021. She was born on March 28, 2021 in Jackson County to Reuben Senior and Melissa Sharpless. Makaia was known as the Brew Baby” and was a source of sunshine for the restaurant workers and customers alike. In addition to her parents she is survived by her great grandparents, Elijah and Shirley Sharpless; grandparents Geoffrey and Bonita Gloyne, Pamela Kienenberger, Maria Sharpless, Martin and Shiela Session, and Barry and Collette Coggins; sisters Adaline Taylor and Zaliah Sharpless; brothers Kyan Sharpless and Reuben Jr. Sharpless; uncles Larch Taylor, O’Dell Sharpless, Joshuah Sharpless, Martin Jr. Session, Markell Session, Great uncle Reuben R and Ronda Sharpless, uncle O’Dell and Tashia Sharpless, and Great uncle Elijah Sharpless Jr, Uncle James Gloyne, and James Gloyne ; Aunts Shamonica Sharpless, Shea Session, Dawn Gloyne, Kassy Gloyne, and Amanda Gragory; great aunts Kim Sharpless and Shelia and Waddell Lisane, Helen Snow and Roberta Gloyne; special friends Alex (Goo) Walker and Lucy Reed as well as other special people Josh Saunooke and the Brew family. Makaia is preceded in death Aaron Gloyne, Jeramiah Gloyne, Trease Sharpless, Daniel Gloyne, and Dinah Gloyne. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Yellow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service, Reuben and O’Dell Sharpless will serve as pallbearers. Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the Sharpless family.
