Kathy Henderson Byrd, 73, of Whittier went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 28, 2022. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her twin sons, Glen and Christopher Byrd; one brother, Jay Henderson, and her grandparents, Sophia and Grover Nelson.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Byrd; two sons, Benjamin Byrd (Donna) and Brandon Byrd; grandchildren, Ronjie Queen, Samantha Jones (Jason), Tristan Byrd, Tate Byrd, Linzy Walden (David), and Michelle Byrd; great grandchildren, Angel, Lilly, David, Melanie, and Kennedy, and her sister, Judy Sandlin (John).
A private family memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday March 16, 2022 at Thomas Chapel Cemetery.
