One of my craziest memories is going to spend the night with Caroline. It had snowed a good bit so Caroline and I decided to hike up the mountain behind her house. You know kid stuff like cave hunting. When we stopped to rest we heard a noise near us. It’s was Walter’s goat! Caroline thought he was tied up and we both knew he would chase us. We split up and I tumbled down the mountain until reached level ground. I got up to sprint to her back porch only to Superman fly over the porch rails to hide. Worried about Caroline’s whereabouts I began looking for her through a hole in the porch fencing: I spotted Caroline behind a tree to my right and the goat near her trying to find her. I grabbed a stick and threw it to my left to lure the goat away. Caroline and I made it back inside all to be met by Walter rolling his eyes and continue on reading in his chair.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Thompson was my teacher back in late 80’s. He was always making us laugh and teaching us too. He will be missed.

We are so sorry for your loss and that we cannot be there to pay our respects in person. Walter Thompson was definitely a man of God who made an impact on everyone he met. He had such a kindness about him. We are praying for your comfort at this time.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Walter Thompson. Prayers for his daughters, and the rest of his family. I worked with Walter and Janie at Cherokee Schools for many years. He taught both my boys. Janie taught Shawn in 6th grade. They were both great people and good friends. Walter will be missed.
