Obituary of Robert Dixon Smith

Robert Dixon Smith, Jr. 41 of Bryson City, NC was called home by the Lord on February 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his dad, Robert Smith, Sr. and sister Becky Smith. He is survived by his wife, Amber Michael Smith; mother Reba Burns (Neville); brothers Robbie Smith, Joe Barneycastle and Jamie Barneycastle; nieces and nephews Jaydon, Selene, Jake, Megan, Sebastian, Toni and Dusty. Robert was an avid Earnhardt fan and a huge Harley Davidson fan. He had a long-time interest in cars and trucks whether old or new. A beloved member of the community, Robert was the type of person to drop everything and help you if you needed him. He would give you anything you needed, if he had it to give. He always thought about others before himself. Robert accomplished everything he set out to do. He married his high school sweetheart; he bought his own house; he owned and operated Robert’s Quick Lube, which most people didn’t believe he could do, but he was set on proving that he could! Robert was taken way too soon but in the short period of time he was here, he touched a lot of lives. Those who knew him well, loved him. He will be truly missed but the memories he has left us with will live on in our hearts and minds forever. Even though Robert still had so much life to live, he was able to do the things he set out to accomplish, including spreading the love he had in his heart to all those he met. Receiving of friends will be at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City, NC on Friday March 3, 2023 at 1:00 with service following at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to assist with Robert’s medical bills. (Checks may be made payable to Amber Smith).
