Obituary of Annie Parker Stephenson

Annie P. Stephenson, 88, wife of the late Gerald L. Stephenson passed away on April 06, 2023. A native of Casar, North Carolina, she was the daughter of The late Buford Avery and Vicey Parker. Annie resided in Bryson City for over 55 years. Annie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bryson City, NC. She served the Church and community in numerous roles during her time at Mt. Zion and in Bryson City. She loved her church and the people that attended and never missed an opportunity to invite anyone she met to church. Those who knew her will recall with fondness her humor, genuine care for others, and her unfailing commitment to living her faith. Surviving are her children, Tina Royster (Burke) Jeffery Stephenson (Kimberly) Marcus Stephenson (Tammy) and Keith Stephenson (Bethel). She is survived by five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by grandson, Isaac Stephenson, brothers James, Arthur, Glenn and Ralph Parker, Sisters, Margie Black, Marie Brackett Surviving sister Shirley Pearson. Sister in Law Genevieve Lindsay(Phillip) Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Saturday April 8 with visitation starting at 10 am service to follow at 11 am. Officiants will be Rev. Dr. Keith Stephenson and Rev. David Watkins. Grandsons Nicholas, Eric, Jake, Jeremy and Joshua and Great grandson Kale Stephenson will serve as Pallbearers. She will be interred at Sawyer Cemetery. The family would like to sincerely thank Lutheran Hospice especially Pastor Maria Miller, Kathryn, Kristy and Victoria.
