Obituary of Gavin Groenewold

Gavin Groenewold, 28, of Cherokee passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of Benjamin Groenewold, II and Leona Winchester Groenewold.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Groenewold; uncles Ray and Benny Winchester; grandfather, Norman Leroy Winchester; and his great grandmother, Cecelia Smith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Jasper Groenewold and wife Kele; grandmother, Lucille Smith Winchester; grandmother, Carmen Risillo Perez; grandfather, Benjamin Groenewold; several nieces and nephews; and special aunt, Ruby Dobbins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Yellowhill Baptist Church. Bro. Joe Wolfe will officiate with burial in the Winchester Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 11 pm Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Donavin, Jasper and Alan Groenewold, Dustin Sampson, Sterling Bennett, and Tyler Collins.
