Obituary of Betty Jean Kirkland

Betty Jean Kirkland, 68, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 13, 2023.
A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Frances and Lottie Woodard Hyde and wife of the late Clyde Kirkland.
She was a member of Round Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Betty was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, James Kirkland and wife Lou, David Kirkland and wife Diana, Bobby Joe Kirkland and wife Sandy; 15 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Grover Hyde; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. David Burch and Dwayne Kirkland will officiate with burial in the Lauada Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
