I am so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I interacted with him some at the Forest Service and always appreciated Rick for his service. I love the wooden flags he made and I have one in my home that he made a couple of years ago. It certainly means even more to me now. You all will be in my prayers.

Rick was my friend, a colleague, and a respected member of the USFS. I worked with him in the Nantahala Gorge and I could always count on him for help.
I was so excited for him when he retired. I know he was looking forward to spending more time with his family. I also know he was extremely proud of Nira and Travis.
I will miss your smiling face Rick Franklin. Thank you for your friendship.
