Obituary of Louise Southards

Louise Southards, 98, of Bryson City, passed away peacefully at Mountain View Manor, January 29, 2024. She was born August 17, 1925, in Gastonia NC to the late John and Minnie Southards. She was a Hairdresser and had a love for color and style. She also worked in the textile industry as a Spinner at Erwin Mills.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 2 sisters: Alma Teague Southards, Lola Mae Southards; 2 sons: William Thomas Bass and James Randolph Bass; and a daughter: Rhonda Louise Bass Morris; and her very special friend Sandra “Sandy” Banks.
She is survived by her 6 grandchildren: Andrea Lynn Morris, April Monique Bass, Kimberly Bass Beasley, Lisa Carol Morris San Souci, Brandi Renee Giles, and Michael Bass. 5 great-grandchildren. A nephew Harley Southards and several more nieces and nephews in the Swain County area, as well. She is also survived by a special friends Donna Ball & Roger Sanders.
A graveside service will be held at the Euchella Cemetery at 11 am on Friday, February 2, 2024. The Reverend Kenny Ball will be officiating.
