Obituary of R.P. Jenkins

Ralph Plato (R.P.) Jenkins, 87, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 18, 2024. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late R.P Jenkins, Sr. and Lorene Skidmore Jenkins.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bryson City and a member of the Rotary Club. He was also a member of the board of Swain County Hospital. He was very loved and active in the community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Jenkins; sister, Laura Ellen; and his brother, Edward Jenkins.
R.P. is survived by his son, Jon-Mark Jenkins; grandchildren, Jonathon Casey Jenkins, Colton Jenkins, and Preston Jenkins; and his loving cousin, Barbara Wiggins.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Bryson City.
Burial will be in the Jenkins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday at the church.
