Obituary of Mary Magdalene Longwith

Mary Magdalene Burns Longwith (Ted), 96, of Bryson City passed away Thursday March 14, 2024. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Dexter and Dessie Hurley Burns. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Earl Longwith, and one brother, Richard Burns; and a sister Hazel Willis. She is survived by her children, Kathy McClellan and husband Dennis; Ricky Longwith, and LD Longwith, and her sisters, Blanche Upton, and Barbara Clark and husband Richard; Grandchildren, Rebecca Pruitt, and Emma Longwith, Chris Braswell; 6 great grandchildren, and good friends, JB Jacobs, and Rhonda Cottril, Libby Burns, Bobbie Squirrell, and many friends at the Senior Citizen Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Burch will officiate with burial at Lauada Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
