Obituary of Harley Thomas Southards

Harley Thomas Southards, 83, of the Alarka Community, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Haywood Hospital.
He was the son of the late John and Alma Southards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Pauline, a brother Harold Southards, a son Kenneth Southards, a nephew Michael Southards and a grandson, Nate Southards.
Harley was a mechanic in his earlier years and enjoyed working on automobiles.
He was a kind and quiet man who loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of many years, Josephine Southards, his children: Jeff Southards(Stacey), David Southards(Anjie), Angie Shuler(Steve). Grandchildren:
Amy Floyd(Matt), McKayla Southards, Axel Southards(Kelsey), Nolan
Southards(McKayla) Jarod Southards, Daniel ShulerKorina), Mark Shuler(Jenea)
and Finley Shuler. Five great-grandchildren, and four nephews. Also special friends Ben Smiley(Linda) and Don Smiley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Thursday at Crisp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2:00pm. Ben Smiley will officiate. Singing provided by James and Leeann Shuler.
Burial will be at Euchella Cemetery. Paulbearers will be: Axel Southards, Nolan Southards, Jarod Southards, Greg Southards, Chris Southards, Brian Southards, Daniel Shuler and Mark Shuler. Honorary Paulbearer: Don Smiley.
