Obituary of Francis Violet Winchester

Francis Violet Breedlove Winchester, 92, of Bryson City NC, passed away peacefully at Harris Regional Hospital, April 11, 2024. A native of Swain County she was born October 16, 1931, to the late Glenn and Mae Dehart Breedlove. She worked as a cook and a homemaker. Her love of family and community was well known. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband William Vance Winchester; 2 sisters Hazel Welch and Bobbie York. She is survived by her loving children: Cathy Kinsey (Ronnie) of Cashiers, Sandy Morgan of Cullowhee, Arlene Burns (Henry) of Bryson City, Ervin Winchester (Cindy) of Bryson City, Michael Winchester (Dee) of Colorado Springs, and Angie Collins (Shannon) of Bryson City; a brother Alvin Breedlove; a sister Jean Brooks; 12 grandchildren: Scott, Eric, Michael, Cory, Jason, Shawn, MJ, Chris, Tiffany, Kathleen, Aaron, and Brian; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild she is also survived by a host of nieces nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held April 26, 2024, at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home at 2pm. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Brother Ronald Owen and Rev. Justin Ledford will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Sawmill Hill Cemetery.
