Obituary of Irene Oliver

Irene Oliver, 79, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 2, 2011 at her residence. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Alt Green and Ollie Lindsey; and wife of the late G.C. Oliver who died September 22, 1997. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her garden and her flowers. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Jones. She is survived by one daughter , Pat Keener and husband Troy of Bryson City; two sons, Bill Oliver and wife Donna of Bryson City, Tony Oliver and wife Dawn of Bryson City; five grandchildren, Alan Keener, Joshua Oliver, Lytisha Shuler, McKinley Jenkins, Kala Oliver; seven great grandchildren, Addisyn, Jade, Chazum, Kaylie, Jayden, Cayden, Hadley; four sisters, Carolyn Cloer, Kathleen Smithson, Ann Welch, Joyce Bramlett; five brothers, Lelon Green, Steve Green, Wayne Green, Bruce Green, Roy Green; and a special thanks to Wanda Blankenship and Rad Bramlett. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Tim Barker and Jeff Waldroup will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
