Obituary of Chippy Dee Jones

Chippy Dee Jones (Chip), 63, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Monday July 29, 2024. He was born in High Point NC on March 11, 1961 to the late Kathleen Hankins and Joseph Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by stepfather, Jack Hankins. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Shuler Jones; one son, Aaron Jones (Annie); Grandchildren, Hailey Jones (Parus), and Zachery Jones; great grandson, Shilo Trempe; sister, Kathy Evans Grant (Brett); brother, Joey Jones (Teresa) of Thomasville, NC; a father-in-law, Grover Shuler, and a very special sister-in-law, Janet Shuler AKA George, and lots of nephews and nieces and sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.  He loved the Lord. He was such a positive person and never met a stranger. He loved to fish these mountains and play golf when he could. He was an avid Penn State Fan. His pride was his grandchildren and mostly Shilo, his great grandson. He loved his family and friends. We will miss him. He worked at Ingles in Bryson City and Waynesville, NC, and he was a Surveyor for Tuckasegee Surveying.  The family would like to give a special thanks for the love and care given to Jason and Sarah at Harris Hospital in Radiology, and the care and kindness from Four Seasons Hospice. Thank you all. God put us in good hands with everyone involved with taking care of Chip. We will remember his smile through it all.  A celebration of life/ memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2024 at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Sam McMahan will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2024 at Funeral Home.
