Ray Fox, 82, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 4, 2024. A native of Macon County and longtime resident of Swain County he was the son of the late Fred Alexander and Anna Belle Bryson Fox. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Emma Lou Fox, and Ruby Henry.
Ray attended Fruitland Baptist Bible College. He then pastored several churches in the area during his years in the ministry. He retired from Duke Energy after 34 years of employment. He also owned and operated Ray Fox Electric Company, providing service to many for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ella Mae Fox; Children, Gary Ray Fox and wife Melanie of Buncombe County, NC, Sheila Mae Fox and partner Dick Kulikowski of Horry County, SC; grandchild, Adam Fox of Haywood County, NC; sisters, Marlene Williams, and Jewel Young, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.
