Obituary of Lluetta White

Lluetta Pilkington White, 86, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Thursday October 10, 2024. She was born on Pilkey’s Creek on the North Shore of Fontana Lake in Swain County on December 11, 1937 to the late William Roy and Bonnie Welch Pilkington. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) White, and a son Gary R. White; brother Clarence A. Pilkington, William Kyle (Buddy) Pilkington, and a sister, Llewlyn P. (Tootsie) Parker, and a nephew, Gregory A. Pilkington.
Lluetta was the oldest member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Mountaineer Antique Auto Club. She was an owner of Vintage Motors. She enjoyed traveling, going to the Eastern Star, Dancing, and taking care of Dallas. Later in life, she helped her nephew open Smokey Mountain Firewood LLC of Bryson City, NC., and was a co-owner of the Company.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Pilkington Fortner; nephew, Richard Fortner (Meredith); and the light of her life, her great nephew, Dallas; sister-in-law’s, Peggy L. Pilkington, and Bertha M. Pilkington; Brother-in-law, Jerry L. Parker; close family friend, Larry Roland, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Pastors Brian Schuler and Mike Cogdill will officiate. An Eastern Star service will be held at Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be, Richard Fortner, Larry Roland, Kevin Anthony, Kevin Rich, Raymond Mathews, Anthony Sequoyah.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Chris Crutchfield, Thomas (Bud) Welch, and Dallas.
